Why is there Teflon Products and PVDF extended delivery times

Throughout the last year, the business has experienced more shortages than I have seen during my thirty years experience. In the past I have seen sharp price increases, and I have observed several shortages, and delivery problems because of resin allocations by plastic resin companies. This is the first occasion I have seen all these issues at one time.

PTFE (TFE) and Kynar are both on allocation.

These two resins are in short supply. The  PTFE Sheet product PTFE (TFE) and also PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that is mined in Mongolia and China. The world need for this mineral has grown significantly, and the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and extremely low co-efficient of friction (slippery) and is utilized in a bunch of purposes from non-stick fry cookware to ptfe tape for personal use.
